Today I met a mermaid
The daughter of the queen
Her eyes were brown
Her hair was blue
Her tail was emerald green
She told me she was looking
For her palace deep below
She was tired and lost
And didn’t feel like searching
All alone

I felt a change
Coming from inside

And suddenly I knew
When I looked down
I saw a tail
I was a mermaid, too!

We found
A golden, glittering, Mermaid’s crown
She picked it up
And smiled wide
Then I saw her palace
In the undersea light
Covered in coral
And crystals so bright
It was the most amazing sight …!

Then waved good-bye
And swam back through the sea
When I arrived above the waves
I saw my tail was gone
But I knew I would not forget
