A live solo performance by Laurie Berkner at the Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota’s Step Up For Down Syndrome Walk!

Join the Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota as we unite for a common cause and raise funds at the 2024 Step Up for Down Syndrome. Whether you have Down syndrome, know someone who does, or just want to show your support, take the first step and donate or register today! Help us spread the word; all are welcome for our day of celebration! You can register for the walk (join a team or start a team) and help raise money for DSAM OR just come for the show. Add a Meet and Greet Experience for $50 per group!

Enhance your visit with a post-performance meet and greet with Laurie Berkner and members of her band. The package includes a commemorative band postcard and the opportunity for autographs and/or additional photos with the artists.

The $50 package is per group, six people within a group, and must be purchased separately from the performance ticket. Limited Meet and Greet packages available.

Tickets to the Meet and Greet are not available to purchase as part of a subscription package or at a discount. Subscribers may purchase the Meet and Greet as a Special Event add on. Add-on tickets must be ordered AFTER your subscription, or your order will be refunded.

You’ll hear classic songs like “Bumblebee (Buzz Buzz),” “The Goldfish (Let’s Go Swimming),” “We Are The Dinosaurs,” as well as newer hits like “Waiting for the Elevator,” “My Bunny Goes Hop,” and “Chipmunk at the Gas Pump”.  Plus – as a special treat for fans – a few well-loved Laurie Berkner songs that are not often heard at Laurie’s full-band concerts! Kids should plan to bring their dancing shoes and a stuffed animal (for their heads). Show runs approximately 60 – 75 minutes.

A $1 will be added to tickets to benefit the local nonprofit, A Leg To Stand On. Mobility impacts everything- from the ability to get dressed in the morning and walk to school, to how you feel when you look in the mirror. When you give a child mobility, you improve their self-esteem, provide access to education, future employment, and the tools to live self-sufficiently. A Leg To Stand On provides physical, social, and upward mobility for children living with limb disabilities around the world. Sensory-friendly performances provide a performing arts experience that is welcoming to all individuals who are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder or other sensitivity issues and their families.

At a sensory-friendly performance, the concert is performed at the same high quality as always, with the light and sound levels adjusted slightly to create a more sensory-sensitive environment. Volunteers are on hand to assist parents and caregivers, a family restroom is available, and there are designated activity and quiet areas in the lobby. Sensory-friendly performances are a “shush-free” zone where patrons are free to talk and leave their seats throughout the performance, as well as bring their own snacks, fidgets, and communications devices with them to their seats.

Most of all, a sensory-friendly performance is a judgment-free environment, where all are welcome to enjoy the performance in whatever way makes the experience work for them.
