Everyone’s Demanding Bananas

“B-A-N-A-N-A-S! Do we want bananas? Yes!” Everyone’s demanding bananas in this rollicking song, and Laurie Berkner doesn’t know what’s going on! Kids will go bananas for this catchy number, and no matter whether they say “banana” or “banahna,” they’ll want to hear it again and again.

Says Laurie: I had so much fun writing this song! It was inspired by a colleague whose kids were continually asking for bananas while we were on a Zoom call. I was so tickled by how she reacted that I borrowed the phrase that came out of her mouth, “Everyone’s demanding bananas – I don’t know what’s going on!” and turned it into a song. I hope that kids who listen will have fun spelling the word “bananas,” being part of the call and response, going bananas while they move their bodies in all of the different ways we sing about, and reveling in the true silliness of the whole song.
